Al-Qaradawi Describes the Establishment of Israel as "The Great Calamity"

We are constantly told that all the Palestinians desire is a state for themselves, to live side-by-side with Israel in peace.  Yet if that were the case, why didn't the Palestinians i.e. the Arabs accept their own state when it was originally offered to them by Great Britain and the United Nations?  Dr. Yousuf al-Qaradawi hints here that the goal of many Arabs and Muslims across the world, which is also expressly written in the charters of both Hamas and Fatah, is no less than Arab control over all of Palestine, i.e. the destruction of the Jewish state. Al-Qaradawi Describes the Establishment of Israel as “The Great Calamity”

Al-Shorouk, 14 May 2010

Dr. Yousuf al-Qaradawi, President of the World Union of Islamic Scholars, described the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of Israel as the first and “great calamity,” and the “painful memorial” which cannot be forgotten or erased from Muslim and Arab memory.  This came during the Friday sermon which Shaykh al-Qaradawi delivered at the ‘Umar bin al-Khattab mosque in Doha.

Al-Qaradawi stated that Arabs and Muslims have continued for years to speak about Israel through means of media and newspaper outlets as a ‘petty state’ or ‘so-called’ Israel.  He added that, “Now Israel has become a state, and we have become the ‘so-called.’”

Al-Qaradawi continued:  “Now the second calamity was the war of ’67.”  He criticized Arab demands for Israel to return to the pre-’67 borders, “as if its 1948 borders were legitimate…”  Al-Qaradawi stressed that Israel will not answer, even to this demand.

Al-Qaradawi also criticized the postponement of discussion of the Palestinian issue in international conferences, the last being the Oslo Conference.  He described current efforts by Arab nations and the Arab League to achieve peace with Israel as “panting behind the mirage of peace.”

At the end of his sermon, al-Qaradawi called all Palestinian factions to unite, and forget their differences.  He stressed that differences can arise in times of prosperity, but they cannot be afforded in the current trial through which the state of Palestine is passing.

From Saudi Newspaper: "Jihad Watch [Spreads] Nazi Propaganda in order to Link Islam with Terrorism"

This article, published in the Saudi newspaper Dar al-Hayat on 30 April, is a response to Robert Spencer's "See No Qur'an, Hear No Qur'an," published on 16 April in Frontpage Magazine.  The author takes issue with Spencer's complaint about the Associate Press coverage of an incident in Chicago where a Muslim man killed his family.  In the AP piece, nothing was said about Islam, only that he killed them because "voices" told him to.  However, in a piece in the Chicago Tribune, it was reported that he had killed them because the Qur'an told him to, and they weren't religious enough.

This author in Dar al-Hayat tries to defend Islam by researching mass killings on Wikipedia and BBC, through which he discovers that most happen in the Western world, and almost never in the Muslim world.  Of course, he is leaving out the nearly daily mass murder committed by Islamic jihadists all over the world!  Nor does he touch on the elements in the Qur'an and hadith that would lead this Chicago man, as well as said jihadists, to commit acts of murder and terrorism.

I also found it interesting that in order to impugn Robert Spencer and Front Page Magazine, he refers to them as "Likud Jews" or "Likud extremists."  Usually just Jews or Zionists is enough, but he actually felt the need to link them with the Israeli political party which is the most hated by the Arab world.  Link to the original Arabic.

Eyes and Ears (Enough to Provoke a Response)

29 Apr 2010
Jihad al-Khazin

There is an American website through which American Likud Jews, the enemies of Arabs and Muslims, as well as supporters of the criminal state of thieves, which is called Israel, operate.  Among its work is something called “Jihad Watch,” which conjures up anything it can exploit to spread Nazi propaganda in order to link Islam with terrorism and extremism in people’s minds.

The site, whose name is “Front Page Magazine,” includes a thousand new Goebbels, who each lie and repeat their lies so much that people begin to believe them.  Usually I ignore the poison this site emits, or just point to it incidentally.  Then I found something that provoked me, and what I feel requires a full response, which I am now making.

The site recently published what was written by the Likud anti-Christ, Robert Spencer, with the title, “See No Qur’an, Hear No Qur’an…”  The title was taken from a 2500-year-old Chinese admonition on good manners, which is, “Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil.”  It is usually depicted by the image of three monkeys, one of them placing his hands over his ears, the second over his mouth, and the third over his eyes.

Thus the site publishes a headline placing the Qur’an in the place of evil and monkeys.

I am not an extremist of any kind.  I confess that I am not religious.  I am simply a regular believer who defends Islam as a nationalist, not as a religious person, because those who attack Islam attack my nation.  It appears that there is no one to stand up for the Muslims.

The news which inspired the writer to put the Qur’an and monkeys in the place of the word evil, was transmitted by the Associated Press from Chicago, which said:  “A person close to the investigation of a shooting in Chicago that left a woman and three children dead says the gunman told police that he committed the crime after hearing voices telling him to kill his family.”

The site says that this news report is a sample of media bias and obfuscation.  The site prefers the news published in the “Chicago Tribune,” which includes, “the man had converted to Islam several years ago while serving time in prison and had a dispute with his wife — one of the victims — because she would not adhere to his faith. He told police that he needed to take his family back to Allah and out of this world of sinners...”

Propagating news of this type was, according to the website, one of the motives for establishing “Jihad Watch.”
If there is any media bias and obfuscation, it is practiced in America, and indeed in all of the West, in order to cover up Israel’s crimes, for its establishment was the original crime.  The thieves of Europe, among the Khazar Jews and others, continue to kill, rob, and destroy even today.  The “Front Page Magazine” website is a clear and flagrant example of the most despicable types of extremism, falsehood, and defense of the Israeli crime, to a degree (even) participating in it.

An American man converted to Islam.  Arabic was certainly not his native tongue, and his understanding of Islam must have been limited.  He killed his wife and children, so it became part of the extremist Likud effort to ‘watch’ the Islamic jihad, as if Muslims (everywhere) are killing their wives and children.

There is a simple answer (to this), (which is) abundantly available on the internet.  I ask every able to search for these things as I have done, for I have searched for months for (information about) those who have committed crimes of mass murder around the world, as well as for (information about) murder incidents in schools.

BBC’s website provided me with a relatively recent list of crimes committed in schools dating back to 1996, including the massacre at the school in Dunblane, Scotland, and up until today.  I found 12 massacres, half of which were committed in the United States.  I am not at all saying that American students are criminals just because they are Christians or Jews.  Nor am I saying that an Arab student would never kill his colleagues just because he is Muslim.

The list of massacres which were committed by individuals is found through Wikipedia, and it shows that the United States and its 300 million inhabitants witnessed 96 mass killings whose perpetrators are known, and 21 others for which the perpetrators are unknown.  The American figure nearly matches that of the rest of the world community, or in other words, that which has been committed among nearly 6 billion other people.

I tried to find (information about) mass killings committed in Arab countries, but I only found one “crime” in Egypt, going back nearly a hundred years to Raya and Sakina [famous Egyptian serial killers from the 1920s], two criminal thieves who have become a type of folklore.  After that, I compiled (a list) of mass murders committed in Muslim countries, and found two in Iran and one in Pakistan.

Even though there are 1.2 billion Muslims, the number of mass killings committed in the Muslim world is less than half of that committed in Canada (10 crimes committed for a country with 35 million inhabitants).  But then an American convert to Islam kills his family, and it becomes a topic for inclusion on “Jihad Watch.”

This Likud extremism is what has created the extremism of terrorists like al-Qa’ida, and is also what justifies the continuation of other types of extremism.  For if not for the (original) crime of the establishment of Israel on the land of the Palestinians at the expense of their lives, and their continuation in committing crimes until today, al-Qa’ida and others like it never would have existed in the first place.

Shaykh al-Bakri: "[The Jews] Are Infidels...the Dregs of Mankind"

This comes from al-Raya, an online Arabic newspaper published in the Gulf.  This article is a collection of Friday sermons from mosques in Qatar the previous Friday.  I translated a portion of the remarks of Shaykh 'Abdallah al-Bakri, the Friday prayer leader from the Hamid Ibn Khalid Al Thani Mosque in Doha, which I believe is the largest mosque in Qatar.  In this sermon, delivered from "moderate Qatar," one of our great "allies" in the Arab world, Shaykh al-Bakri rails against the Jews (shock!).  He quotes copiously from the Qur'an in doing so, which should be no surprise to anyone who has taken the time to study Islam and discover its intrinsic antisemitism.  Link to the original Arabic.

Al-Bakri: Our Conflict with the Jews Is Ideological; Whoever Says Otherwise Is Mistaken

Shaykh ‘Abdallah al-Bakri, the Friday speaker [i.e. he who leads the Friday prayers] at the Hamid Ibn Khalid Al Thani Mosque [Doha, Qatar], said that the monumental events through which the ummah [Islamic nation] is currently passing should evoke its sense of mission and awaken its determination.  He added that the history of Islam declares that times of weakness, decline, and subjugation to its enemies have motivated the ummah to cooperate in peaceful thought and good works, in order to repel its aggressors and restore its strength and glory.

In times of historic proportions, the ummah has given birth to heroic mujahidin, effective scholars, and faithful leaders.  This is an ummah which will never die, no matter how intense its pain or varied its ills, for it is promised with triumph and victory, once it realizes the means for such.  It has also been characterized by charity stretching back generations, as the Prophet (PBUH) said: “My people is as the rain: no good is known (which equals) the first or the last.”  He also said: “Allah continues to plant (seeds) in this religion, using the plants for (their) obedience to him.”  He again said: “Allah folded the earth so that I could see its eastern and western ends.  I saw that my people’s reign extended over all that which was folded for me (to see).”

From the chain of transmission of Imam Ahmad, the Prophet (PBUH) said: “While I was sleeping, I beheld the column of a book, possibly from under my head, for I supposed that I was out of my mind.  I followed it with my eyes and was taken thereby to the Levant.  So also the true faith, when the fitna [sedition] occurs, will be in the Levant.”  Also from that transmitted by Abu-‘Ali, (the Prophet) (PBUH) said: “A band of my people will continue to fight at the gates of Damascus and the surrounding area, as well as at the gates of Jerusalem and the surrounding area.  They will not be distressed by their setbacks, manifesting the truth until the (final) hour comes.”  (This came) from an extremely reliable source on whom there is no doubt.

Al-Bakri pointed out that the painful events and crucial days through which the ummah is passing is a destiny written for this ummah, which should be a motive to cause it to rise up from its fallen state, remember its message, and close ranks under the banners of tawhid [oneness, i.e. the monotheistic nature of Allah] and sunnah [i.e. the tradition and sayings of the Prophet], putting trust in Allah and not in the world or the enemies of Allah:  “If ye will aid the cause of Allah, he will aid you, and plant your feet firmly” [Qur’an 47.7].  Whoever is fortunate enough to have read the Qur’an and sunnah knows without a doubt that the conflict between us and the Jews, as well as with the Christians, is ideological more than anything else.  This is the case with all of the enemies of Islam.  Whoever errs on this point has the left the side of reason, and has failed to understand the truth, as the Most High has said: “Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans” [Qur’an 5.82], as well as, “Never will the Jews or the Christians be satisfied with thee unless thou follow their form of religion” [Qur’an 2.120].  Whoever wants to interpret the conflict with them [i.e. the Jews] in any way other than on this divine foundation, will continue to run after every mirage which appears on the horizon, but they will never obtain [even] one drop of water.

The prudent reader of history understands that the Jews of yesterday, whose infamies are told to us in the Qur’an, were but bad ancestors to even worse descendants.  They are infidels, corrupters of the word, worshipers of the calf, murderers of the prophets, slanderers of the message, enemies of the Islamic call, breakers of agreements, (even) the dregs of mankind.  As our Lord said of them:  “…those who incurred the curse of Allah and his wrath, those of whom some He transformed into apes and swine, those who worshipped evil;- these are (many times) worse in rank, and far more astray from the even path!" [Qur’an 5.60].

(Al-Bakri) said: “These are the Jews, an unbroken chain of vileness, craftiness, obstinacy, injustice, wickedness, and corruption:  “…they (ever) strive to do mischief on the earth. Allah loveth not those who do mischief” [Qur’an 5.64].  They are an unbroken chain of treachery, deception, baseness, and inferiority.  They (even) dared to attack the position of the divine:  “Allah hath heard the taunt of those who say: ‘Truly, Allah is indigent and we are rich!’ [Qur’an 3.181], and “The Jews say: '(Allah)'s hand is tied up.' Be their hands tied up and be they accursed for the (blasphemy) they utter” [Qur’an 5.64].  They charged the Apostle with terrible things, accusing him of the most hideous crimes.  They annoyed Moses, deceived ‘Isa [Jesus], killed Zakariyah and Yahya, and tried to kill Muhammad—they worked magic on him and poisoned him:  “Is it that whenever there comes to you an apostle with what ye yourselves desire not, ye are puffed up with pride?- Some ye called impostors, and others ye slay!” [Qur’an 2.87].  This is their reality.  It is not strange to see them commit any sort of crime or vile deed.  What is strange is to see Muslims who make agreements with them or trust them, or run after their mirage and deception.”

He stated that, “Your brethren, who are stationed under the shelter of the al-Aqsa Mosque and throughout all of Palestine, who resist in beautiful diligence and self-sacrifice, have been daily offering up those whom we consider as martyrs, for a long time.  Those stationed in the land of Muhammad’s midnight journey have taught the ummah how to be strong and noble, and die a great death as a martyr.  To the ummah which knows how to die the honorable death, Allah will give a great life in this world, and eternal comfort in the next.  Regarding the defense of the al-Aqsa Mosque—be patient, persevere, and take up your positions, for the victory of Allah is near.  The more intense the darkness, the closer the outbreak of dawn.”
